Mumstown Drogheda Launch

The new Mumstown website has recently launched!

Mumstown is a place where mums and local community members are able to chat, comment and interact, find great ideas, recipes and deals.

Kelly and her team came to us looking for a redesign of the site and some upgrades to the functionality and we're pretty happy with the way it turned out.

So far feedback has been quite constructive but positive. For example scole1 made the comment "wow just logged on looks fab ohhhhh fancy.......".

The address for the website is: www.Mumstown.ie
Take a look and leave a comment.

Happy New Year! (Snow in Drogheda)

Friday 4th January and the snow is falling in Drogheda.

The place looks magical so the team took a few minutes out to head up to the office roof garden and take in the sights ... we also had a bit of a snow fight ... well all work and no play ...

Apple iPhone vs. Google GPhone

Love it or hate it, Apple's trendy new iPhone is taking some selected countries around the world by storm. In anticipation of the expected deluge of customer queries O2 UK has employed an additional 1427 staff, including sales and support staff. Not too bad for one single product in the veritable sea of mobile handsets. I guess Apple will be on a few more peoples' Christmas list this year. Now we just have to await a release date for the rest of us.

But while the iPhone is here (sort of) the Google behemoth hasn't been resting on it laurels. Back in 2005 Google bought out a company called Android. After seemingly endless speculation about Google's own handset, nicknamed the "GPhone", last month the search engine masters announced instead an open source operating system and programming framework for mobile devices. The system is being supported by a consortium of some of the world's mobile phone and technology heavyweights such as Motorola, LG, Samsung, NTT DoCoMo and Intel. "What exactly does that mean to me?" you may ask. That's a good question. Right now, not much, but in the next few years, probably a whole lot! Starting from around the middle of next year handsets running the new operating system will start popping up all over the place. Because the system is open it will allow programmers from around the world to create some really cool applications that you can install on your phone; programs that are useful to YOU! Expect your phone to go from being simply a text messaging reader to a complete lifestyle device. Captain Kirk is going to be so jealous.

...and off we go

Welcome to the MOR Solutions blog. It has taken a while to commit to starting a blog as we did not want a start stop affair. It's really a case of 'if you've nothing good to say - dont say anything at all!'.

And on that very subject I wanted to start by taking this opportunity to mention others who by delivering really useful information on their blogs that have really pushed us to try and do likewise. In particular, Paul Browne at FirstPartners.net (http://firstpartners.net/blog/) and Red Cardinal (http://www.redcardinal.ie/) both of whom have informed and inspired us over the last 12 months.

Another reason from the delay in publishing this blog is that we went through a very exciting and productive re-branding exercise over the last 6 months and we wanted to wait for the re-launch of the MOR Solutions website before starting a blog.

I hope we do publish interesting, informative and challenging content here and that it will provoke discussion and interest in the work we do.
