Help set a world record!

On 17th June 2008 the Mozilla organisation will release their new Firefox web browser: Firefox 3.

Some of you may ask, what is a web browser? Basically, the program you're running on your computer to see this web page is called a web browser. The most common web browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Opera. If you don't know which web browser you are using, you are most likely using Internet Explorer.

Web browsers actually show web pages slightly differently, which to a web developer, can cause some serious hair pulling. Generally Internet Explorer browsers don't do such a good job, which is a real shame. Firefox browsers do a much better job. Now is your chance to see how a web page was MEANT to be viewed (and save some poor web developer's follicles)!

The Firefox team would like to set a new world record for how many times a piece of software is downloaded in 24 hours. And it's super easy to be a part of this world record breaking team! On Tuesday 17th, in the afternoon, go to the Firefox website by clicking on this link. There should be a big button that will say "Download" somewhere on the page. I can't be specific because the page doesn't exist yet. Make sure it says "Firefox 3" though. It will be super easy. And it's free. Once it's downloaded, install the software (if you need help, please give us a call or drop us an email and we will help you) and you're away.

Here are a few key words to summarise my message: Firefox 3, world record, free, you, download, June 17, thanks ;)

Click on the Firefox logo to go to the download page:

UPDATE: It looks like it will be available from 10am PDT, which is 6pm in Ireland, so get it before you leave work or early Wednesday morning to support the world record attempt!
